Dr. Seth Hickerson | CEO/Founder

Seth has made a lot of bad decisions…He has gone through several personal challenges in his life…many self-inflicted and many not.  Dr. Hickerson also knows he is not unique or special…he is human and flawed.  Seth also knows that there is a way to manage the adversity life throws at you and overcome it so that you can fully develop as a person and become a top performer in any industry regardless of your background, education level or environment. 

Seth is passionate about teaching people how to become the best they can be through mental skills training (emotional intelligence/cognitive fitness) aka “Mental Toughness” and Leadership training. This is the secret skill set that sets the optimum performers apart from all the rest. 

Seth has helped individuals, from beginners to professionals, improve their self and situational awareness through Mental Toughness Training and Leadership Development. Dr. Hickerson and Boost teach people how to become more confident, present and in control so they can life a more responsive, and not reactive life.

Dr. Hickerson received his B.S degree in Health and Physical Education (K-12) from Indiana State University. He then completed his M.S. degree from the University of Tennessee majoring in Sport Studies (with a focus in Sport Psychology). His doctorate was obtained in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Seth is a member of the Applied Association of Sport Psychology and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) from the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). Dr. Hickerson is a veteran of both the U.S. Navy (Active Duty) and the U.S. Air Force (reserve) where he proudly served for 8 years while spending 5 years overseas.

Fred Bryant | Business Advisor

Fred is responsible for ensuring that BOOST provides the highest quality assessments and training programs and experiences for our clients.

Additionally Fred oversees leadership development for BOOST's performance coaches. While in college Fred worked for Seth and earned several personal training certifications. He spent two years as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor, while working under, and being mentored by Seth. He was instrumental in the growth of all areas of fitness and wellness programming for the University under Seth's leadership.

After graduating from college he served on active duty in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer. While on active duty Mr. Bryant graduated from the prestigious U.S. Army Ranger and Airborne Schools and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, earning the Bronze Star Medal.

Fred also has an extremely high business acumen and background. In addition to working with BOOST, he utilizes his leadership skills by working with early stage companies and small businesses advising owners, CEOs and investors on how to create, grow and maintain their enterprises. He is a rising star in the field of leadership development and strategy.

Dr. Lindsay Hickerson | Director, Sports Medicine Consultations

Lindsay E. Hickerson, MD, is the Director of Sports Medicine Consultations for BOOST. She is a full time Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Musculoskeletal Trauma and Direct Anterior Hip Replacements at the University of Oklahoma.

In addition to specializing in fractures of the extremities and hip/pelvis, areas of added interest are Sports Medicine and Performance Enhancement.

Dr. Hickerson earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA, in 2009. She completed her Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. She continued her specialized education and training with a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, NY.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Hickerson treated musculoskeletal injuries in the sports medicine field as an athletic trainer for Division 1 sports teams at the University of Virginia. She also held the prestigious designation as a CSCS while working with elite athletes at the University of Virginia. In addition, she has experience rehabilitating patients whose musculoskeletal ailments do not require surgery and those who have received orthopedic surgical procedures in a physical therapy outpatient rehabilitation center. She has also had experience as a head athletic trainer for a K-12 school system.

Dr. Hickerson's goal is to help educate athletes on how to prevent and/or recover from injuries and to return to an active lifestyle as quickly and as safely as possible.

Dr. Kathy Boone Ginter | Director of Training and Curriculum

Kathy S. Boone Ginter teaches in the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport and is a counselor at the Student Counseling Center at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN.  She earned her Ph.D. with an emphasis in Sport Psychology, Motor Learning, and Counseling from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has a master's degree with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Purdue University. She has a master's degree in coaching, a certificate in counseling, and a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Psychology from Indiana State University and is a licensed Mental Health Counselor.  Her professional experience includes teaching and coaching at the youth sport, high school and collegiate levels. Her research interests are in the area of cohesion, coaching, and bullying. She spends her leisure time shooting competitive pool. 

Donnie Van Curen | Licensed Therapist

Donnie Van Curen is a Licensed Therapist, Author and Public Speaker passionately helping people.

His practice Counseling 1820 is located in Edmond, OK and works to assist families, couples, individuals and adolescents with the skills and support necessary to combat the struggles and difficulties that life often provides.  Due to his extensive time with young people, Donnie has been requested to participate on numerous panels on subjects vital to the growth and safety of our young people including “Bullying”.  In 2013 he was an expert guest for the magazine “Metro Family” with the role of answering parents questions on raising their children and managing their family.  Donnie serves on the Edmond Y Council and has acted as in a support role for both the administration and membership.  He also is frequently requested to lead businesses in the areas of stress management, boundaries, organization skills, and motivation.  Donnie also organizes and speaks at numerous conferences in Oklahoma and neighboring states.  In addition, you can find him as a relationship and family expert each week on local TV stations News 9 from 4-5pm.  His segment “Ask Donnie” has been on air since 2012.  

Kevin C. Milligan | Director of Operations

Kevin is the Director of Operations for Boost. A former college athlete that majored in psychology and business.

He coached high school football and baseball upon finishing college before joining the family business of publishing community newspapers while staying involved in high school and local athletics. During this period Milligan served as a director of local youth leagues, President of the local Country Club and High School Booster Club as well as a director of the Chamber of Commerce Board, United Way Board and Local Community College Fundraising Board.

Milligan is also owner of a Property Management Company. During his years after college he has mentored numerous college and professional athletes. He is the proud father of two daughters, Ramsey and Elise.

Dr. Tim Baghurst | Director of Sports Performance

Tim Baghurst is the Director of Sports & Coaching Science at Oklahoma State University and owns GOAT Sports Performance.

He graduated with a Doctorate in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas and also has three Masters degrees spanning sports and education. He has worked in a variety of sports performance roles including as a Nutritional Counselor for the Arkansas Razorback athletic department. However, Tim is more known for his ability to solve sports performance problems through a multidisciplinary approach.

Tim is a world renown academic and has published three textbooks, a dozen book chapters and sections, and over 100 peer-reviewed academic journal articles on numerous sport science topics. A dynamic speaker, he has presented around the globe for many different sport-based organizations. He is a Vice President and Fellow of the Oklahoma Association of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (OAHPERD), a board member of the Oklahoma National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a Fellow of the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE America).

Tim is a referee for the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) and serves as their Anti-Doping Administrator. He played three different sports at the collegiate level before taking up racquetball after graduation. Since then he has won gold medals at state, national, and senior world championships.

Dr. Dave Tran | D.C.

Dr. Dave Tran is the owner and clinical director of The Specific Chiropractic Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a double major in Business Management and Management Information Systems, and completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Texas Chiropractic College.

He has completed specialized post-graduate training with The Art of The Specific in upper cervical specific chiropractic.

Dr. Dave has served people in countries all over the globe with chiropractic, including El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ghana and South Africa.

His mission as a specific chiropractor is to educate people on how the body functions so that they can reach their optimum health and potential. Dr. Dave stands for a world where no matter what happens, there’s something we can do to achieve something extraordinary from it. He expects miracles through specific chiropractic care.
