Dr. Lindsay Hickerson
Director, Sports Medicine Consultations
Lindsay E. Hickerson, MD, is the Director of Sports Medicine Consultations for BOOST. She is a full time Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Musculoskeletal Trauma and Direct Anterior Hip Replacements at the University of Oklahoma.
In addition to specializing in fractures of the extremities and hip/pelvis, areas of added interest are Sports Medicine and Performance Enhancement.
Dr. Hickerson earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA, in 2009. She completed her Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014. She continued her specialized education and training with a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, NY.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Hickerson treated musculoskeletal injuries in the sports medicine field as an athletic trainer for Division 1 sports teams at the University of Virginia. She also held the prestigious designation as a CSCS while working with elite athletes at the University of Virginia. In addition, she has experience rehabilitating patients whose musculoskeletal ailments do not require surgery and those who have received orthopedic surgical procedures in a physical therapy outpatient rehabilitation center. She has also had experience as a head athletic trainer for a K-12 school system.
Dr. Hickerson's goal is to help educate athletes on how to prevent and/or recover from injuries and to return to an active lifestyle as quickly and as safely as possible.
