Alexander R. Raines, MD, FACS is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of Robotic Surgery for the Department of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. He is also a contracting general surgeon for the Oklahoma City Veteran Affairs Hospital and the consultative general surgeon for a local professional sports team.
A native of Lincoln, NE, Dr. Raines earned his
undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas, his medical degree from the University of Nebraska, and completed his general surgery training at the University of Oklahoma after which he became a board-certified general surgeon (American Board of Surgery) and immediately joined the OU Department of Surgery faculty.
Dr. Raines was fortunate to immediately enjoy a busy
surgical practice from the onset of his career. He is
fulfilled with being a trend-setter in robotic surgery while having the opportunity to positively affect thousands of patients. Along with being committed
to providing his patients with a personal and effective treatment experience, he is also committed to advancing the field of surgery through education of residents and students, advancing technology, and improving hospital processes.
Like so many who preceded him, however, he found himself spiraling into a path of burnout and an unbalanced life. He feels very fortunate to have been introduced to Dr. Seth Hickerson and Boost. He fully embraced the Boost programming and ethos. Now, his work productivity is at an all-time high, while, more
importantly, he enjoys a more balanced life at home! Simply, he is a happy and effective man
He is honored to be a part of the Boost team to promote these life changing skills and mindsets.
As the most important focus, Alex loves spending time with his wife, Kammi, and step-daughter, Izabel, at home and traveling. He also loves spending time with his dog, Nora, on the mountain bike trails.
